Experienced, Compassionate, Skilled, Comprehensive, Attuned Mental Health Care
Lisa J. Torborg, Psy.D.
Licensed Psychologist
PROFESSIONAL BIO
My clinical experience spans inpatient hospitalization, college/university counseling, and a broad spectrum of outpatient services including medical settings, court-mandated treatment, and general outpatient private practice focused on psychotherapy, psychological testing, supervision, and administrative roles.
I approach psychotherapy with a broad lens; a comprehensive, Bio-Psycho-Social model. With intensive post-doctoral training in many models of psychotherapy, I offer individualized care, tailored to meet the needs of each patient. My work is often within the scope of relationship-based psychotherapy, specifically Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and/or Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative, “working together” process requiring courage and transparency. When an authentic, structured, and trusting relationship develops between a patient and therapist, it can serve as a foundation, a primary means for emotional healing. A safe, attuned therapeutic relationship and environment can allow a patient to begin to feel less alone in their emotional pain and with that, healing can operate more freely. This process often moves patients to begin to see the strength and goodness I see in them.
I am humbled by the extraordinarily skilled teachers, clinical supervisors, and mentors with which I have had the privilege to work throughout my career. For this I am enormously grateful. I am committed to uphold and pass on exceptionally high quality mental health care.

Carrie L. Kobienia, MS
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
PROFESSIONAL BIO
I have been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001. I have experience from Residential, Day Treatment to Outpatient Therapy. I have been in private practice for many years providing individual, couples and family therapy. I have also facilitated a Psychoeducational Shame Resiliency Group using Brene Brown's Connections Research. This experience allowed me to witness people free themselves from patterns they have felt trapped in for much of their life. My multidisciplinary approach consists of Shame Resiliency work, Emotional Focused Attachment Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and relationship based therapies. I have witnessed how research supports these multidisciplinary approaches to free oneself from maladaptive coping and cognitions.
I am a life learner and my passion comes from supporting people while holding space for them to also experience this growth. I have completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and training and supervision for EMDR. These techniques are a very complimentary focus on attachment and reprocessing. I strive to provide a safe place for self-exploration to assist people in truly understanding their story. I am committed to holding myself accountable to learn and stay informed of new research which can help in people's success.
