Lisa J. Torborg, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Torborg-Bio

BIO

My clinical experience spans Inpatient Hospitalization, College/University counseling, and a broad spectrum of Outpatient Services including medical settings, court-mandated treatment, and general outpatient private practice focused on psychotherapy, psychological testing, supervision, and administrative roles.

I approach psychotherapy with a broad lens; a comprehensive, Bio-Psycho-Social model. With intensive post-doctoral training in many models of psychotherapy, I am able to offer individualized care, tailored to meet the needs of each patient.  My work is often within the scope of relationship-based psychotherapy, specifically Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).  I see psychotherapy as a collaborative, “working together” process that requires much courage. I believe when an authentic, structured, and trusting relationship develops between a patient and therapist, it can serve as a foundation, a primary ingredient for emotional healing.  A safe, attuned therapeutic relationship and environment can allow a patient to begin to feel less alone in their emotional pain and with that, the healing process can operate more freely.  This often moves patients to begin to see the strength, personal resource, resiliency, and goodness I see in them.

I also provide Professional Consultation, Clinical Supervision, and Psychological Testing (for the purpose of diagnostic differentiation).  I am humbled by the extraordinarily skilled teachers, clinical supervisors, and mentors with which I have had the privilege to work throughout my career.  For this I am enormously grateful.  I am committed to uphold and pass on an exceptionally high quality of mental health care every patient deserves.

Carrie L. Kobienia, MS

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Kobienia-Bio

BIO

I have been practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001. I have experience working in Residential, Day Treatment and Outpatient Services. I have been in private practice for many years providing individual, couples and family therapy. I have also facilitated a Pyschoeducational Shame Resiliency Group for women over the past several years. This shame resiliency work has been extremely rewarding. I have witnessed people using this therapy free themselves from patterns they have felt trapped in for much of their life. This feeling of freedom can lend to healthier relationships and personal worthiness.

I find my passion comes from providing a safe environment to self-explore and assist people in truly understanding their story. I am a systems based therapist who views experiences through the lens of relationships. I find relationship-based therapies facilitate experiences to heal from many traumas. I am a life learner who remains curious and committed to my own personal growth. I am interested in pairing psychotherapy with complementary therapies to assist in better outcomes.
